Tell Me It Didn't Mean Anything Man... From every show I play I learn something new. Last night I played a show with my dads band in Lake Placid... it was a Harley Rally. I don't mind playing their music at all anymore... its freakin fun. It was the lack of singing that used to bother me before I think... but anyway haha... The lesson learned last night was not only for me but for my dad and the guys in the band. By putting an 18 year old female in a band with four men in their late 40's... you're asking for trouble. They developed the responsibility of being bodyguards last night. Man... Biker dudes are pretty scary. Most of them are real nice, but when you've got someone old enough to be your father lookin you up and down while you're playin, wtf do you do?! I left to go to the bathroom, I was gone for seriously less than 2 minutes, and Huey just about sent out a search party. Thats how worried they were. I had only told my dad I was going, so they thought I was MIA. ** Christina, you're Dad SO had my back... hahaha** As always, after the show, people told us how great we sounded... yada yada... but the cool thing is that they got four new gigs just from last night. Thats pretty insane... four gigs from one night of people hearing them. My dad told me that was the best they'd sounded in his opinion, which made me feel pretty good, seeing that I hear people are now "laughing" at me behind my back. Haha. Hey, I made 80 bucks for three hours of playing. Last weekend I made 60 for two hours of music. I can't complain at all. I'm doing better money wise with a band than I ever have... and I've only played with them twice. AND my voice... is better than its ever been. The tonsils were in the way, now theres nothing holding me back. So people can laugh... it'll be funny to watch when it comes back around on them. I seriously can't complain about anything right now. I'm so happy with everything thats going on. The friends I have are real friends, no one that would turn around and talk shit when I wasn't there. I'm playin music, might not be my first choice of music, but Im having so much fun doing it, and hell Im getting PAID! Its not very often that someone pays you to have fun. Finals are coming, but I'm prepaired and Im going to do well... I really just couldn't ask for a whole lot more right now.rockstarrynight: weblog - photos - videos - audio - pulse - profile - subscribe!
